Aim and Objective

Scope:

These are broader statements on the purpose of the course in the curriculum, key contents of the course that will contribute to the specific knowledge and or skill developments. The teacher is expected to orient the students about the scope of the particular course at the beginning and intermittently.

Course Objectives:

The course objectives describe the key topics that are intended by the teacher to be covered in the course. In general, these are more specific than the scope and broader than the course outcomes. The teacher is expected to discuss the objectives of the course with the students and break-down the course objectives into micro levels as objectives of a specific topic / objectives of a specific lecture, etc. Such an exercise shall make the students to understand the significance of the course / topic / lecture and enhance their attention on the course / topic / lecture.

Competencies for the Indian D.Pharm Holders

Competency is defined as “A distinct composite of knowledge, skill, attitude and value that is essential to the practice of the profession in real life contexts”. The candidates who successfully complete the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) program of Education Regulations 2020 (ER-2020), from the institutions approved by the Pharmacy Council of India are expected to attain the following professional competencies.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

  • Demonstrate the knowledge of structure and relation of physiology of human body with respect to pathophysiology of various disease/disorder/ailments/injury.
  • Demonstrate an ability to understand mechanism of drug action, its dynamics and kinetics, visualize and work on laboratory techniques and improvements
  • Utmost knowledge to conduct, analyse, interpret the facts of pharmaceutical production, quality control and quality assurance of finished products and raw material employed in pharmaceuticals formulations.
  • Experiential skill to identify and distinguish medicinally important plants and acknowledgement of phytoconstituents.
  • Experiential ability to provide first aid treatment in case of emergency
  • Acquaint with administrative, managerial, leadership, teamwork and problem solving ualities.
  • Proficiency to identify, formulate the community and Hospital Pharmacy problems.
  • Perfect in arrangement of pharmacy and inventory control and storage condition of dosage forms.
  • Perfect in outlining reliable formats and maintenance of documents and records.
  • Harsh towards pharmaceutical profession and ethical abide by pharmaceutical legislations ofIndia.
